Notes on Family Photos
Here are some things to keep in mind when planning for your family portrait:
Consider dressing the entire family with a common clothing theme, e.g. blue jeans, same-colored tops. and similar footwear.
Large parks containing overhanging trees generally provide a variety of photo opportunities and are a good choice.
Shots at the beach can be wonderful, but be prepared to shoot either very early or rather late in the day.
Very young children tend to be most cooperative during very specific windows of time during the day. If there will be young children in your photograph, make sure you discuss this with the photographer and schedule your appointment accordingly.
White shirts are very popular, but be aware that white tops can make people with light-toned skin appear heavier. The opposite can be true for people with dark-toned skin.
